Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe, the member elect Bende North State constituency, has called on the federal government, State cum extension of Social Responsibility interventions (CSR), from community welfare Unions, corporate bodies, Agencies etc. to come to the rescue of the good people of Bende north in controlling erosion ravaged areas of the constituency. Dr Ibekwe made this known to newsmen during an on the spot assessment of the areas affected by erosion. The areas include Amabo- Umuenyere and Akoliufu Umuenyere in Alayi. Amankalu, Okafia and lbina ukwu in Igbere.Okai, Amaekpu and Amaokwe in Item.

further said communities like Igbere, Alayi and some part of Item would soon be engulfed by erosion if nothing is done urgently to curtail it.

He called on the ministry of environment and relevant authorities concerned with environmental matters to come to their rescue in addition to his personal and communal efforts.

He further identified state of the soil as a causative factor responsible for the erosion menace; that once it rains heavily in the area the land begins to erode. Also lack of adequate drainages, improper channelling and further exacerbate the impact of heavy downpours.

He observed that some of the available drainages were not properly executed in order to contain the volume of water flowing through it which at the end causes erosion during heavy down pour.


Therefore, he called for the following measures to be taken: massive sensitisation programme to educate the people on the nature of the soil and how to protect it, closing up the developing sites and urgent need for properly constructed drainages to control the level of flooding especially in hilly places to control the inflow of flood at the end point.

Finally, Dr Ibekwe called for prompt attention from the relevant authorities to save the communities mentioned from the the impending doom.

The association of Nigeria licensed customs agent (ANLCA) congratulate Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe, Member Elect Bende North State Constituency on his merited election to the post in the just concluded general elections.

In a letter signed by the association’s publicity secretary, they acknowledged that his victory at the poll is simply a confirmation of the love of his people at the grassroots.

The association expressed their sadness in missing his services in the leadership of the association but used the opportunity to wish him well and a successful tenure.

Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe thanked the association and promised to make them even more proud as one of their own with the development projects he has planned for Bende North State Constituency

Dr Ibekwe who attended the burial advised the family to follow the advice of Jesus Christ who had enjoined Christians in mourning not to weep as though they have no hope.

“accept the situation with good faith and trust in God. For in its time, he makes all things beautiful.”

Finally, Dr Ibekwe prayed for the family and requesting that God grants them fortitude to bear the loss.

Member elect Bende North state constituency commiserate with the widow of late Eze Ogo Agu Okorie encouraged the bereaved and lgbere people to take solace in the Lord.

Times like this are times for us to be strong and believe that God who permitted this knows better and at all time is working out our good . All we have to do is to take solace in him

Dr Ibekwe equally encouraged all Igbere people to use this period of mourning to rebuild their relationship with God

The Member Elect Bende North State Constituency Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe has commiserated the family of late Chief B. A. Meregini over his death.

Dr Ibekwe who was full of empathy and encouragement for the family assured the family that their loss is a loss to all humanity as Chief Meregini lived a life that affected everyone in different ways.

He equally enjoined the people to always hope in God who makes all things beautiful in its time.

The Amaokai people through Amaokai Ugwueke Development Union (AUDU) have congratulated the member elect, Bende North State Constituency, Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe on his victory in the just concluded general election.

In a letter signed by the President general and secretary of the Union, Bishop Stephen Iheumwumere and Mr Matthew Kalu respectively, AUDU stated that Dr Ibekwe’s victory was as a result of competence in other spheres as well as the people’s belief in his leadership qualities.

“The evidential goodwill and commitment to assignments you have shown in your private, professional and communal endeavours certainly gave the good people of Bende North the confidence that you will deliver and make good representation if given the mandate.”

Dr Ibekwe on his side thanked and assured them that their trust in him will definitely be repaid with a continuation of the various developmental projects he has been bringing to all communities in Bende North.

The Abia Obodo Chineke Freight Practitioners Association has joined other groups and individuals in congratulating Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe, the member elect, representing Bende North State Constituency on his well deserved victory in the just concluded election into Abia State House of Assembly election.

In a letter written by the association, the group acknowledged that, his people oriented grassroots interventions in several areas Viz; agriculture, education, health support, infrastructure etc. that touched the people’s lives ensured his victory and that is why the famous “Obi-wave” could not blow him away like it did most other candidates in the South East.

The group equally acknowledged that his experience working as the secretary of the Western zone ANLCA will surely come to bear in his discharge of duties as a lawmaker in Abia state. They urged him to continue to carry himself and his duties in a godly manner so as to represent the people well.

On his part, Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe thanked the group and assured them that his victory is a victory for every well meaning Abian. Also, the victory is a motivation to continue spreading the OziomaChi to all of Umunna and will not stop untill the desired change is achieved.

The Member Elect, Bende North State Constituency, Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe today welcome the leaders of Overflowing Mercies Assembly at his residence in Onu Ibina Igbere.

The delegation which was led by His Lord’s Servant, Bishop Dr Stephen I Okpara expressed their happiness and thanks to God for an u disputable success at the just concluded election for state house of assembly.

“You have fought and won resoundingly because of your impeccable character and difference among all other contestants. We believe your victory is God’s own way of delivering us from bad governance and representations which had bedeviled our state for years now.”

Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe who was excited at such a visit reassured the people that his victory is simply God’s own way of reinforcing the OziomaChi in all of Umunna.

He promised to continue with his service to humanity especially now that OMA has come out to fully work with and support OziomaChi.

The member elect Bende North state constituency said this when he visited Iya Jenny Ogbu, mother of Anyaele Okpanku who was declared missing in Amiyi community lgbere.

He further charges them to keep trusting in God who makes all things beautiful in His time.

In this world and times of overwhelming evil and danger, God sees and knows everything and in his time, he makes all things good. All we need to do is trust him and his ways and He will surely care for His children.

The Member Elect, Bende North State Constituency, Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe joined Elder Sunday Awa in his thanksgiving service for his conferment as a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) at The Presbyterian church Onu Ibina Igbere.

Elder Sunday Awa (SAN) used the well attended service at his hometown to return all the thanks to God for a successful career and of course his conferment as a senior advocate of Nigeria.

At the program Dr Nnamdi Ibekwe, Felicitated with him and assured him that the honour can only be as a result of his hard work in his legal career. It is the work which you backed up with faith in God for a better reward that God has honoured by raising you to this new height.

He equally used the opportunity to encourage everyone to eschew laziness and do whatever their hands see to do because the lifting up we all expect comes from hardwork. “James 2 v 17 enjoins us to back up our dreams for good rewards with work. This is the only way dreams come true. So you must do your part. Elder Sunday Awa did his part and God has crowned all his efforts with success.”
