Member representing Bende North State Constituency, Hon. Nnamdi Ibekwe has tendered his heart felt sympathy to Most Distinguished Senator MAO Ohuabunwa over the passing onto glory of his wife Mrs Nimi Ohuabunwa.

In his own words, Hon. Ibekwe stated that: *the demise of your late lovely wife, companion, confidant, and mother of your beloved children is quite heart rending, traumatizing to you and your family. l enjoin you to remain steadfast in the Lord, knowing that her death is in the hands of God and she has departed to be with her Lord, and maker in a better realm.”

Hon. Ibekwe prayed that God will grant the Ohuabunwa family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, and also grant eternal repose to the soul of the departed.

The Ndi Orie Young People’s Forum of Eziama Igbere have congratulated Hon. Nnamdi Ibekwe, the member representing Bende North State Constituency on his victory at the general elections.

In a letter signed by Michael Nkume and Ibekwe Ogbuagu, group secretary and president respectively, they acknowledged the contributions Hon. Ibekwe has made to them through his development foundation: Oziomachi Foundation.

Hon Ibekwe assured the women that his victory is a victory for everyone who believes in the quest to change the narrative in Nigerian politics and serves as the beginning of a new era in Bende, Abia and of course Nigeria.

Member Representing Bende North state constituency-calls for improvement in the living conditions of Abia people nay Nigerians.
He said this while seconding a motion on a MATTER OF URGENT PUBLIC IMPORTANCE ON THE PROPOSED ELECTRICITY PRICE INCREASE ON 1ST JULY, 2023.* He called on the federal government to stay action or modify its policies that are directly making life difficult for Nigerians, Abia people in particular.

Speaking during the second seating of the 8th assembly, Hon. Ibekwe was of the opinion that increase in interest rates, increase in import duty via official increase in exchange rate, removal of fuel subsidy and floating of the naira were all the recent fiscal policies that make life more difficult for Abians and Nigerians at large.

Hon. Ibekwe bemoans the fact that these harsh fiscal policies were rolled out when Nigeria was just declared poverty headquarters of the world due to the rate of poverty among Nigerians.

Hon. Ibekwe requested that the federal government should be advised to stay action on these policies that cause excruciating economic conditions, but rather, ones that improve significantly the living conditions of Nigerians should be implemented.

The entire executive and members of Abia Boxing Board of Control at Enyimba International Stadium Aba recognizes the election of Hon. Nnamdi Ibekwe as the honourable member representing Bende North State Constituency.

In a letter signed by the patrons and board members, and the body described the election of Hon Nnamdi Ibekwe as a well deserved victory given his track record of achievements, humility and intelligence.

They equally promised to support him as he assumes office to deliver good and quality representation for the people of Bende North.

Member representing Bende North constituency Abia state Hon. Nnamdi Ibekwe stated this during post inauguration interview by the press.

He said that, Abia state house of assembly rather than make perceived anti- investment, business or property laws as stated by the Speaker Lagos state assembly, he will work in conjunction with his colleagues to ensure that Abia state is investment friendly by creating conductive ambience for businesses to thrive, ensure direct foreign/diaspora Investments. He also, stated that, when passed the bill will encourage lgbo people, and non lgbo people in Nigeria to bring their investment to Abia state.

Further in his speech, he stated that, in addition to the foregoing, he would equally ensure that the bill serves as a catalyst to investment revolution in the areas of palm plantation, palm oil production, cocoa plantation, as well as infrastructural development. As this will compliment his efforts aimed at ensuring eradication of illiteracy in line with the millennium development goals which necessitated his establishment of various continuous education centres in his constituency and recently an endowment funds for best graduating students in Abia state university.

And above all, Hon. Ibekwe stressed the need for jobs creation and youths empowerment in Abia state so as to both reduce unemployment and the comeuppance of unemployment in the society.

The Hon. Member representing Bende North state constituency, Hon.Nnamdi Ibekwe has instituted best graduating student’s annual endowment fund in Abia State University (ABSU). Also, in the offing is a scholarship for indigent students of Bende North state constituency.

Bearing in mind that education plays a fundamental role in emancipation and development, the member elect further enjoined other well meaning Abia people, NGOs and groups to  contribute in a far reaching manner to ensure education of the less privileged and promotion of education generally.

Speaking further, Hon. Ibekwe stated that, when the scholarship tales off, it’s going to benefit intelligent, but, disadvantaged youths from Bende North state constituency. Finally, he described the gesture as part of his legacy to the youghs of Umunna and another way of motivating students in the higher institution.
